Overview

The mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lorain County is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. To achieve this mission, we focus on under-resourced families and supplement our transformational, strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one mentoring relationships with group mentoring, supportive programming, and family engagement strategies that change children’s lives for the better, forever. In partnership with parents/guardians, volunteers, and others in the community, BBBSLC focuses on holding ourselves accountable for each young person in the program achieving: Higher aspirations, greater confidence, and better relationships; Avoidance of risky behavior; Educational success, high school graduation and A plan for the future.
